Politicizing Religion and the Politics of Religion

@ -

In recent years politicizing religion in the U.S. has arguably led to a rise in religious intolerance and discrimination against religious minorities and certain actors have increasingly used religion as an instrument to mobilize voters.

This panel will examine the role of religion in politics and how politicizing religion has resulted in significant discord in the U.S. The discussion will focus on these important issues and the panelists will propose some possible measures to prevent religion from becoming a source of further polarization.

The event is open and free to the public. It will be streamed live at www.bobgrahamcenter.ufl.edu.

Panelists include: Dr. Badredine Arfi, Dr. Omer Awass, and Dr. Lyrissa Lidsky with moderation from Dr. Mustafa M. Ahmed.
