Laura received a BFA in Theatre Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a concentration in musical theatre. She spent 10 years studying and teaching yoga and āyurveda before receiving a MA in Religious Studies from Rutgers University, with a concentration in Hindu Philosophy and Sanskrit under the guidance of Dr. Edwin Bryant. Her thesis examined the doctrine of non-desireousness of the Bhagavadgītā in retroactive application to current-day environmental destruction (and as it might comment on the multi-billion dollar industry that surrounds the western practice of yogāsana). Laura taught as a part-time lecturer at Rutgers University for Spring 2023 in Hinduism.
